Branding and Website Design

The objective of this project was to create a fictional company and create all the branding material from logo to the website that looked consistent, unified, and appealing. Scira Books is a fictional independent children's book publisher that publishes book about Science to children between 2–10 years old. When I was designing the logo, I want to show that Science can be playful and fun. So I mixed a warm typeface with a test tub instead the letter "i" to make the logo ludic.

I wanted to design a family-friend website that looked bubbly, fun and cheerful. So in the style guide I decided that the site needed to have irregular and organic shapes to make it more playful and cozy. So I made all the buttons and shapes to be nonuniform. I also introduced a mascot in the website to give it more personality. It's an astronaut cat that has a big eyes, tongue out, and a cute outfit. The astronaut outfit helps the kids to connect the brand with space travel, science, and universe.

I used the shapes, color, and typeface to make the website consistent. I also decided to have the navigation bar and a footer appearing in every page to make easier to the user to access the FAQ, Shipping + Returns policy, among others.
